MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION, SUBSCRIPTIONS AND COURT FEES

1. Introduction

The subscription rates and other prices quoted in this document are current as at January 2013. They are subject to change from time-to-time and the up-to-date costs will always be available on the club website www.bristolrealtennisclub.org.uk under the heading "Membership".

Whilst the Club prefers direct debit payment, we do accept payment by cash, cheque or card. For information about payment, please speak to the Club's professional, Kevin King.

2. Introductory and Special Offers

From time-to-time the Club does have special offers which can be found on our website www.bristolrealtennisclub.org.uk under the heading Membership or by asking the Club's professional (Kevin King) email@bristolrealtennisclub.org.uk or tel: 0117 973 3444. They will also be advertised at the Club.

3. Taster sessions

Any member of the public who is interested in taking up Real Tennis can arrange a taster session with one of the Club professionals (subject always to court availability, particularly in busy times).

4. Trial Membership

Available on a once only basis for potential full members for a period of 3 months. The fee is £100 and it entitles the trial member to 2 lessons with Kevin King and up to 3 other one hour sessions on court at no additional cost during that 3 month period. Any additional courts will be charged on the basis of the court fees (see 9 below). At the end of the 3 month period the Trial Member is invited to take up full membership with the initial £100 going towards the Full Membership subscription (see 5 below).

5. Full Membership

Over 25 full membership is available at an annual cost of £245. Full members can book courts 14 days in advance. The court fees are at 9 below.

6. Junior Membership

Anyone who is under 25 at the date of joining can become a junior member for an annual subscription of £25. The court fees are at 9 below.

7. Country Membership

Adults who live more than 40 miles from the court can join for an annual subscription of £30 and are entitled to play up to eight times a year. The court fees are at 9 below.

8. Non-Playing Members

Adults who wish to join the club for social and other events can pay an annual subscription of £30.

9. Court Fees and booking

The court fee for each player in a game of singles will be £8 and the court fee for each player in a game of doubles will be £5. If you have booked to play and do not turn up or if you cancel on the day of the game you will be charged the full court fee unless the professional can find a replacement player.

Courts can be booked by telephone, in person or by e-mail. In addition, we will be moving to an on-line booking system in 2011.

Balls (which are made by hand by our professional) are provided as part of the court fee.

10. Lesson fees

The fee for a lesson from our Professional is £30 (including the court fee) for individual players and £10 (including the court fee) for up to three players who come in a group.

11. Racquets, Clothing and Other Equipment

All of the above can be purchased from the Club professional, so please ask Kevin King or Andrew Fowler for details.

12. Membership Packs

If you are interested in joining the club, please pop in to the court and pick up a membership pack. These packs have full details of how to book taster sessions, how to take out trial membership and how to become a full member as well as information on the history of the game and how to play it.
